Obituary of Theresa M. Mc Cabe

McCabe, Theresa M. “Terry”, age 62 of Glen Rock, died Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Villa Marie Claire, Saddle River. Terry was born in Teaneck, NJ and had been a lifelong resident of Glen Rock. She was national leisure director of ALTOUR, and part of ALTOUR’s senior management team that oversees the agency’s leisure travel division. Based in New Jersey, she also oversaw all aspects of growth and operation of ALTOUR’s Paramus office. A 36 year veteran of the travel industry, Terry won multiple honors for her outstanding work. A consistent member of Wendy Perrin’s annual “WOW” list of top travel specialists and a frequent industry resource for national consumer press. Terry was widely recognized for her expertise on tropical beach destinations and the Caribbean. She was an active member of multiple industry and hotel advisory boards. Prior to joining ALTOUR, she served as President of Stratton Travel Management, Inc. An enthusiastic traveler, her favorite destinations included the tropical beaches of the Caribbean and Africa. Terry also enjoyed gardening at her home in Glen Rock. Terry is survived by her brother, Stephen McCabe of Greenwood Lake, NY, her step-mother, Frances McCabe of Tinton Falls, NJ, her step-sister, Margaret A. Larkin of Stafford, VA, her step-brothers, Theodore Fajardo of Matawan, NJ, William Fajardo of Ridgewood, NJ and Lawrence Fajardo of St. Charles, IL. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Leo V. and Theresa (nee Fallon) McCabe. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her, especially her dear friends, Kim Baker, Rev. John Chadwick, Sandra Cosbie and Nina and Rob Wennersten. The family will receive friends on Saturday 1:00-5:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. Funeral Mass Monday 10:30 AM at St. Catharine’s RC Church, 905 S. Maple Avenue, Glen Rock, NJ 07452 with the interment to follow at Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes, NJ.
