Obituary of Grace McIntire

McINTIRE Grace, 91, of Ho-Ho-Kus, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016. Born in Newark, Grace lived in Rutherford before moving to Ho-Ho-Kus in 1960. Grace was a graduate from the Rutherford School System and the Ballard Secretarial School in New York City. She also completed courses given by IBM using those skills at Wright Aeronautical Corporation and Schering Drug Corp. She went on to become a Manager at the American Baptist Convention in New York City. Grace then went on to take the position of Super Mom in 1961 raising her family in Ho-Ho-Kus. Grace was the Director of Volunteers for the Red Cross in Ridgewood, was the President of the Ho-Ho-Kus Library Board and was an Elder and a Deacon in the Community Church in Ho-Ho-Kus. She is survived by her daughter Susan Woods of Ho-Ho-Kus and her son Gordon McIntire and his wife Sue of Mahwah and six grandchildren: Kelsea, Shannon, Devon, Harrison, Audrey and Brooke. She was also survived by three nephews and one niece. Grace was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Hubert in 2005. A Memorial Service celebrating Grace’s life will be at 2:00pm on Sunday at the Community Church of Ho-Ho-Kus, 400 Warren Ave, Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ 07423.
