Obituary of Abram Van Dyke

VAN DYKE, Abram, 102, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, October 23, 2011. Born and raised in Ridgewood, he lived in Midland Park for 55 years before moving back to Ridgewood for 13 years and finally to North Haledon for 8 years. Abram was president and owner of Lincoln Lumber and Woodworking Company in Wyckoff. He served many years on the Zoning Board of Adjustment in Midland Park and was a lifelong member of the Midland Park Christian Reformed Church where he served as Sunday school teacher, deacon and elder. Abe is survived by his wife Helen, sons J. William Van Dyke and wife Judith of Midland Park, Jacob Van Dyke and wife Dorothy of Hawthorne, daughter Jane Ann Schoonejongen and husband George of Essex, Vermont, 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife Jeannette in 1989, and by 11 brothers and sisters. Visiting hours are Thursday 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm at the Holland Christian Home, 151 Graham Ave., North Haledon, NJ. Funeral is Friday 10:00am at the Holland Christian Home. Internment will follow at the Valleau Cemetery in Ridgewood.
