Obituary of Dorothy M. Montero
Dorothy Streaser Montero passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 13, 2016. She was 90. Born in Morningside Heights, New York she lived in Fort Lee, NJ and Palisades Park, NJ before moving to Mahwah to be closer to her family. In her earlier years Dorothy was a bookkeeper in the banking industry followed by working for years at the Savarin plant in NJ. After moving to Norfolk Village in Mahwah she became a member of the Mahwah Senior Citizen Center and Senior Club.
She loved her card games and bingo with all her friends at Norfolk Village. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially at family gatherings and was known for her wonderful sense of humor. She was quick to laugh and to make others laugh.
Loving Aunt to her three nieces: Lorraine Woehrle, Carol Streaser, Peggy MacFarlane; a nephew Terrence Streaser and his wife Susan, also Nancy Streaser, and many great nieces and nephews. Dorothy is predeceased by her brothers John Murphy and Walter Streaser, sister-in-law Margaret Streaser, a sister Florence Hall, brother-in-law Robert Hall and a nephew Brian Streaser.
Receiving of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, April 19th from 10:00 AM until the memorial service time at 12:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. Inurnment will follow at Maryrest Mausoleum in Mahwah. In lieu of flowers Contributions in Dorothy’s memory may be made to the Mahwah Senior Citizens Center and Senior Club, 475 Corporate Dr., Mahwah, NJ 07430.
