Obituary of Michael V. Spitalieri
Michael V. "Mike" Spitalieri passed away peacefully, in the company of his family, on the evening of Monday, March 28th, 2016. He had been ill for several months prior. Mike was age 61 at his death. Mike was predeceased by his mother Louisa, and his father, Vincent. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Pat; his sons Michael and Christopher; his daughters-in-law Elisa and Dina; and his grandchildren Michael, Elena, and Amelia. Currently of Waldwick, Mike had previously resided in both Franklin Lakes and Mahwah. He was a native of Staten Island, NY. He worked in building construction for many years, before becoming employed by Starbuck's in Wyckoff. He was a most familiar and beloved presence there for 11 years, and entirely enjoyed his workplace, his coworkers, and the community he served. Mike's passion was music of almost any kind. He, himself played bass guitar for recreation, with both his friends and his sons. He deeply loved his family, and was grateful for them all.
Relatives, friends, and acquaintances are welcome to gather at Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff, on Sunday April 3rd, 2016, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 787 Franklin Lakes Rd., Franklin Lakes at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 4th, 2016, followed by interment at Christ the King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes, immediately following the Mass.
