Obituary of Abram "Abe" Leonard Cronk, Jr.

Cronk, Abram (Abe) Leonard, age 83, known as “Mr. Sports” of Midland Park died Wednesday, February 24, 2016. Abe was born in Midland Park he was a lifelong resident before recently moving to Hawthorne two years ago. Prior to his retirement, Abe was a maintenance worker for Grand Union, Ridgewood for 42 years. He was an active member of the Midland Park United Methodist Church, where he served as head usher and loved spending time with his “church family” during the coffee hour. Abe was known as Midland Park’s #1 sports fan and enjoyed attending sporting events throughout the town. If Abe wasn’t volunteering at a sporting event he could be found cheering for the home team from the stands. If Abe wasn’t at a sporting event, he could be found spending time at the Senior Center in Midland Park. In his spare time, if he wasn’t doing a good deed for someone, he could be found conquering a jigsaw puzzle. Abe will long be remember in the hearts of his extended “Midland Park family”. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 10:30 am at the Midland Park United Methodist Church, 269 Godwin Avenue, Midland Park, NJ 07432. A private burial took place in Midland Park Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy in Abe’s memory donations may be made to the Midland Park United Methodist Church, Midland Park, NJ or any sports organization in Midland Park.
