Obituary of Robert J. Saletta

Saletta, Robert J., age 80 of Wyckoff, NJ died Wednesday, February 10, 2016. Born in Chicago, IL, he moved to Wyckoff in 1965. Bob was a graduate of Illinois Institute of Technology and Loyola University School of Law. Before his retirement, he was Director of Human Resources for ITT, New York, NY. Bob was a parishioner of The Church of Saint Elizabeth in Wyckoff, where he served on the Parish Council and Finance Committees, and was a CCD Teacher. He was also a member of Activities Unlimited, Wyckoff. Bob was an avid traveller, most notably enjoying rafting on the Colorado River. He cherished time with his family, especially summers on Long Beach Island. His family would like to express their gratitude to Ruth and Seth of Angela's Angels for their caring support, which enabled him to remain at home. Surviving is his wife Geraldine (née Ferguson) Saletta of Wyckoff, his children, Michael and wife Kathy Saletta of Winslow, ME, Mary Kay and husband John Buckley of River Edge, NJ, Suzanne and husband Paul Kreienberg of Albany, NY, Sharon and husband Michael Papetti of Westwood, MA, and Scott and wife Louise Saletta of Titusville, NJ. Also surviving are his 11 grandchildren, Patrick J., Anna, Emma, Colleen, Elena, John, Patrick R., William, Francis, Denis, Grace and his mother, Mary Saletta of Chicago, IL. He is also survived by his brother, Gerald and wife Kay of Chicago, IL as well as many loving family members in the Chicagoland area. Bob was predeceased by his brothers, Patrick and Dennis. Visiting, Sunday 2-5 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. Funeral Mass Monday, 10 AM at The Church of Saint Elizabeth, 700 Wyckoff Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. A luncheon will follow the Mass at The Brick House Restaurant, Wyckoff with interment at Redeemer Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bob’s honor to St. Elizabeth’s School, 700 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff, NJ 07481.
