Obituary of Myrna J Reed

Reed, Myrna age 78 of Cedar Crest Village in Pompton Plains died Saturday, January 30, 2016. She fought a courageous battle with ovarian cancer for 8 years. She was an inspiration to many who shared the disease. She passed the way she lived with dignity, strength, and grace. Born in Washington, PA she lived most of her life in Pleasant Hills, PA before moving to NJ 2 years ago. She loved to travel and enjoyed her retirement spending time with her family. She was an active member of the bible study group at Cedar Crest. She attended Advent Lutheran Church, Wyckoff, NJ and was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Pleasant Hills, PA. Surviving is her husband of 57 years, George Reed, her daughter, Bethel Borgeson and her husband Roy of Wyckoff, her three grandchildren, Hannah Haas, Annie Borgeson and Henry Borgeson. Also surviving is her godson, Terry Syrek and Heather and her great nephew, Luke Syrek. She was predeceased by her son Bradford S. Reed in 1979. Her family was the center of her world. Our beloved wife, mother, grammie, and friend will be greatly missed and unforgettable in our hearts forever. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday at 11 am at Advent Lutheran Church, 777 Wyckoff Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. Interment will take place on Saturday at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery, Pittsburgh, PA. In lieu of flowers donations to Advent Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
