Obituary of Mark M. Bava

Bava, Mark Michael, age 61 of Franklin Lakes passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Delray Medical Center, Delray Beach, FL. Mark was born in Englewood, NJ and resided in Franklin Lakes for 27 years. Mark and his wife, Linda have shared over 40 loving years together and enjoyed splitting their time between their residences in Franklin Lakes, Cape May and Palm Beach Gardens, FL. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Fordham University. He continued his education at New York University, where he received a Master’s degree in Public Administration and Finance, and at Yale University, where he received his Juris Doctorate. Mark was the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of the Morris Companies in East Rutherford, NJ. He maintained memberships in the American Bar Association and the NJ and NY Bar Associations. Mark had many interests, including tennis, golf, and deep-sea fishing. He was a member of both the Franklin Lakes and Ridgewood Racquet Clubs, the Stone Harbor Golf Club, the Cape May Marlin and Tuna Club, the Canyon Yacht Club of Cape May NJ, and Frenchmen’s Reserve Country Club of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Mark is survived by his loving wife, Linda A. (nee Rogala) of Franklin Lakes, NJ, and his children, Heather Cardello and her husband Todd of Long Valley, NJ, Shaun Bava and his wife, Katherine of Jersey City, NJ and Dr. Ashley Bava of Red Bank, NJ. He is survived by his grandchildren, who were the light of his life, Christian and James Cardello and Kira Bava. He is also survived by his mother, Edith (nee Tempone) Bava, his brother David Bava and his wife, Mary Lee and his niece, Gabrielle Bava all of Manalapan, NJ. Mark was predeceased by his father, Michael Bava. The family will receive family and friends on Wednesday and Thursday, February 3rd and 4th, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ 07481. A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, February 5th, at 11 am at Most Blessed Sacrament RC Church, 787 Franklin Lakes Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ. The interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, Paramus, NJ. As an expression of sympathy, contributions in Mark’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 1 Union Street, Suite 203, Robbinsville, NJ 08691.
