Obituary of Ruth Ann Bray
Bray, Ruth Ann, age 72, of Midland Park, died Friday, December 4, 2015 at home after long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Born on June 7, 1943 in Paterson, NJ Ruth Ann was a graduate of Hawthorne High School and Paterson State Teacher College, and later went on to earn her Master’s Degree from Marygrove College. She was a teacher in the Paterson School District for 45 years, before retiring in 2010. She spent the latter years of her career teaching at Roberto Clemente School. For many years, Ruth Ann was a member of the Park Avenue Baptist Church in Paterson where she was the church pianist and organist. Ruth Ann loved to spend time with her friends and travel. She especially treasured her trips to Ocean Grove and Cape Cod. Ruth Ann was predeceased by her father, George Bray Sr, in 1977, her mother Ruth E. Bray in 2012 and her niece Kristen Leah Bray in 1992. She is survived by her brother, George Bray and his wife Valerie Cherie Bray of Neptune, niece Patricia Adams and her husband Robert, and grandnieces Elyse and Grace Adams, all of Wall Township, and a host of dear friends. Visitation will be Monday, December 14, 2015, 3:00-5:30 pm followed by a Memorial Service and celebration of her life at 5:30 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ 07481. In lieu of donations, the family asks that a donation to a charity of your choice be made in Ruth Ann’s memory.
