Obituary of Thomas G. Scanlon, Jr.

Thomas G. Scanlon, Jr., 53, of Wayne, NJ, formerly of North Haledon, NJ, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2015. Tom worked as a teledata technician at Integrated Micro Systems in Haledon, NJ and was a member of IBEW LU 269 in Trenton, NJ. He was a member of the North Haledon Unico. In addition to his love for animals, Tom was an "outdoorsman" who loved to fish, ski, hike and bike ride. He could make anyone laugh with his quick wit, sense of humor and one-liners, especially when discussing the topic of politics. Tom was loved by everyone who was lucky enough to meet him. He touched so many lives and will be greatly missed. Tom is predeceased by his parents, Thomas G. and Rose Marie. He is survived by his loving wife Rosalie, his cherished daughters, Margo and Brooke, his sister, Francine, and brother-in-law Kenneth Orsini. He was the devoted uncle to Arielle and Kenneth Orsini. Tom is also survived by a host of close family and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa.
