Obituary of Kenneth Lawler Bridges Jr.
BRIDGES- Kenneth Lawler Bridges Jr. of Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ died Monday, November 2, 2015, at age 87. Born in New York, NY on August 25 1928, Mr. Bridges was a graduate of McBurney High School, (1947). He was a proud Veteran of the Korean War, earning the rank of Sergeant Major, (1951-1953). He earned a B.S. from New York University in 1956 and worked in advertising and marketing for several decades, most notably for the I.B.M. Corporation from 1962 until 1993, across their headquarters in New York City, Montvale, NJ and Armonk, NY. Upon retirement, Kenneth was as an Adjunct Professor of Marketing at Ramapo College, until 1999. He always said it was the best job he’d ever had. Ken Bridges was a Ho-Ho-Kus resident for 45 years. He and his wife June, who pre- deceased him in 2010, were avid antique collectors, restorers and dealers throughout northern New Jersey. He is survived by his two daughters Paige Lawler Bridges of Washington, D. C.; and Brooke Eaton Bridges of Irvington, N.Y., her husband Andre Frank and his two beloved grand children, Bowie Bridges Frank and Saxon Eaton Frank. The family will receive friends on Saturday November 14, 2015 from 1-4 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave, Wyckoff, NJ. Private cremation will be held. In lieu of flowers, donation to the James A. McFaul Environmental Center, 150 Crescent Ave. Wyckoff, NJ 07481 would be appreciated.
