Obituary of Michael Joseph Fornaci

FORNACI, Michael Joseph age 61 of Oakland, died Monday, September 28, 2015. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Michael grew up in Waldwick with his four siblings, Regina, Bill, Diane and Philip, he graduated from Paramus Catholic High School 1972. He was a 1976 graduate of Monmouth University and has raised his family with his wife Gloria in Oakland. Michael owned and operated Hafco Foundry and Machine in Midland Park for more than 25 years. He was a board member of the ARC of New Jersey and organized their annual golf fund raiser. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Oakland. Surviving are his beloved wife of 31 years, Gloria (nee Warkentin), his 4 devoted children, Ellen and her husband Edward Walsh, Christopher, Michael and Jeanette and grandsons, Evan and Eddie. Michael also leaves behind Mike Esposito who became a member of the family and was loved like a son. The Fornaci family will receive family and friends on Thursday 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. Funeral mass will be held Friday, 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth’s R.C. Church, 700 Wyckoff Avenue, Wyckoff. Cremation is private. Memorial contributions may be made to the ARC of Bergen & Passaic Counties, 223 Moore Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601. Michael was the most generous and loving husband, father and friend. Words cannot express how much he will be missed by everyone he touched. His one of a kind sense of humor and wit will not be forgotten.
