I remember Dr. Siss vividly and fondly. Doris too. He was my pediatrician as well as my siblings pediatrician. The was back in the 70's and 80's. I remember his waiting area, with simple wooden toys and books to read, I remember his kind face and soft and gentle hands.
He was a good man and a great doctor and I feel very blessed to have been his patient. RIP Dr. Siss. You are loved.

I was so sorry to hear of Dr. Siss' passing. He was one of the kindest, caring and compassionate persons I have ever known. I first met him at 14 when he gave me a physical for Girl Scouts camp. He never charged a fee saying he"loved seeing kids go to camp". He later delivered my 4 children and also was their pediatrician, even once making a house call. He also was the pediatrician for one of my grandchildren--that's 3 generations. There will never be another doctor like him, truly one of a kind. He will certainly be missed by his family and friends, and my sincere condolences go out to all of them. May he rest in peace.

The Kreiner Family would like to extend condolences to the family of Dr. Siss. He was the pediatrician for our family's children since the late-1950s. We fondly remember his nurse, the late Doris Lucas, too. They became our friends over the years. Nowadays you don't find such wonderful, caring, doctor-patient relationships.

my deepest sympathy to the family of my beloved pediatrician. Dr. Siss was my pediatrician from 1972-1989. He saw me through so many of my bumps and bruises and stitches. I remember most his warm smile and his gentle voice and the way I never seemed to feel a thing when I was given my shots. Dr. Siss for some silly reason always reminded me of Dr. Seuss. Maybe it was all the reading material in his waiting area! He was a kind and gentle soul and will be very sorely missed. Rest in peace and know that you were loved by so many and you touched the lives of each and every one of the children that came through your doors.

Dr. Siss was my pediatrician as a child. He also treated my oldest daughter right before his retirement. I'll never forget his kind manner. Even as a small, scared child I loved him. Any time I wasn't feeling well I'd tell my mom "I think I need to see Dr. Siss". My heart goes out to his family in their sadness. Rest in peace.

Words cannot express my emotions over the passing of such an amazing man. He is the standard by which I hold my children's doctors to. Not only could you see how much he cared for the children, but also for the worried parents. His example holds no match. His light will shine on in the hearts of all the lives he touched. I know it does in mine.

We are sending our deep condolence for Dr.Siss's passing.
He was our children's Pediatrician and took care of them lovingly. He was always ready to call back for any hysterical calls he gets in the middle.of the night from new parents like us.
We had witnessed him teaching patiently new doctors on his rounds.
He Will be missed terribly!
I would also add that he was also my husband's Pediatrician...so he is family to us.

It was my privilege to have known Dr. Siss. I doubt there has been nor will ever be a kinder and more gentle man. Rest in peace Dr. Siss. No doubt the angels in Heaven welcomed you home, saying, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."

I have the fondest memories of both your mom and dad. Dr. Siss worked with my dad in Paterson. Dr. Siss was so kind and such a good doctor! Back in the Fifties, at a certain point I was due for an injection (maybe it was the polio vaccine), and Dr. Siss came to our house to give me the shot (I was terrified). I must have been about 5 years old. Well, he chased me around the house, and I finally went down to the basement and hid under a big grand piano. I thought I had him -- but I was no match for Dr. Siss! Needless to say, I got the shot (and it didn't hurt). Your family was always so kind to ours, thank you so much. We all send heartfelt condolences.

Dr.Siss was a great man. I have fond memories of sitting in his offices some 50 years ago for wellness visits. I could still hear The squeaking from Doris's shoe coming down the hall way and the Dr. in right behind her. But the visits he would make to our home still brings a smile to my face. The poor guy would see all his patients All day and still would make house calls to our home with 4 screaming kids with chicken pox. The poor tired man would have to chase us around the living room so we could get our shots! Lol yes you were a credit to the medical profession and truly a great man that will be missed by many. God bless and rest in peace.

Was a friend of your Mother in Ramsey High School. She was so well liked and respected by all. When I was expecting my second son David in 1949 and Dr Siss set up practice in Prospect Park I chose him to be my Doctor. Having lived in North Haledon the office was very convient. He delivered two of my children and was my Doctor to all three of my kids from the first time we met him in 1949 till they were in their teens. Well we all remember him with much love and respect. He was indeed a good man. You can all be very proud of him and the life that he lived. You have my sincere condolances.

I will always remember Dr. Siss fondly. He was always more than a doctor to all of us...he was a family friend. One memory was when his office was on Haledon Ave and Doris was his right hand nurse. He always smiled at the kiddies (even when he gave them their shots.) My mom always told me great stories of when he made house calls in the 60's. He was a kind and loving man who cared about our children. He is second to none. May God bless the Siss family in this time of mourning.
