Obituary of Carol Koll

Koll, Carol A. (nee Sapochak) 77, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015. Carol was born on October 20, 1937 in Passaic, N.J., to George and Clara (nee Dul) Sapochak and grew up in Passaic and Paramus, N.J. She graduated from Pope Pius XII High School class of 1955. She earned a B.S. from Farleigh Dickinson University, a B.A. and a Masters in Library Science from William Paterson University. Carol was a former resident of Waldwick, N.J., for over 38 years prior to moving to the Berkley Township section of Toms River, N.J., 13 years ago. She was a member of St. Luke’s R.C. Church in Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J., where she was a parishioner for over 38 years. She was also a member and parishioner of St. Joseph’s R.C. Church in Toms River, N.J. for the last 13 years. Carol worked as a librarian and teacher in the Mahwah and Old Tappan school systems, for the U.S. Department of Labor in New York City and for AIG International in Tarrytown, N.Y., prior to her retirement in 1994. She was a Seton Associate with the Sisters of Charity of St. Elizabeth for over 15 years, a Lions International member for 33 years and a member of the Honorable Blue Goose International for over 23 years. She was also involved in the Silver Ridge North of Berkley Township Women’s Club and First Aid Auxiliary. Carol loved to read and travel. Her daughter Suzanne and her husband Brian Carley of Mahwah, N.J., and her son Gregory and his wife Esther of Hillsborough, N.J, survive Carol. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren - Jacquelynn Carley, Gregory Koll, Christopher Koll, and Nikolas Koll. Her sister Joan Draper and niece Jill Draper of the Berkley Township section of Toms River, N.J., and many cousins also survive her. A Funeral Mass will be held for Carol on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Luke’s R.C. Church, 340 N. Franklin Turnpike, Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, 234 Paramus Road, Paramus, N.J. 07652. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Carol Koll are appreciated to either: Sisters of Charity of St. Elizabeth Development Office P.O.
