Obituary of Anthony Pontier
PONTIER, Anthony G., Jr. age 90 of Jackson, LA, died peacefully on Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Tony was born in Clifton, NJ. He lived most of his life in Wyckoff, NJ and Goshen, NY and loved to summer in Speculator, NY. Tony was a Postal Worker for the U.S. Postal Service in Wyckoff for 25 years before his retirement in 1986. He was a member of the Goshen Christian Reformed Church and a former member of the Calvin Christian Reformed Church in Wyckoff where he served as elder. Tony was the proprietor of Featherland Farms in Wyckoff. He served his country in the Pacific Theater during World War II in the United States Army Air Corps. Surviving are his children, Ruth Husselman (John) of Kennesaw, GA, Lorraine White (James) of Monterey, VA, Virginia Kuilema of Grand Rapids, MI and Bruce Pontier (Barbara) of Lacombe, LA. Tony also leaves 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his first wife, Margaret in 1964, his second wife, Jeanette in 2003, his son-in-law Robert Kuilema in 2004 and his brother Rev. Arthur Pontier in 2009. The Pontier family will receive guests on Monday, Septemebr 26, 2011, 9:30 to 11:30 AM followed by the funeral service at 11:30 AM. Interment will be in the George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Eastern Christian School Association, 20 Oakwood Avenue, North Haledon, NJ 07508 or the Christian Health Care Center, 301 Sicomac Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481.
