Dear Richard and family, You may not remember me. Pat was my boss when I was public relations assistant at First National Bank of New Jersey. My name then was Lories Nye. I left there in 1984 to have my first son. When I read today's paper, I was shocked to learn of Pat's death. She was a great woman, excellent boss and I'm sure, will be missed terribly. I always remember her love for her dogs and her dedication to her work. I can still remember the delightful birthday parties she held for her dog. I extend my sympathies to all of you. I know what's it's like to lose a spouse. My first husband died suddenly in 1993 when my boys were 5 and 9. It's like losing half of yourself. I was devastated. But with God's help and the encouragement of family and friends, I went on to become a teacher, remarried seven years later and am now working on my masters. Out of all the pain, I started a grief recovery group at my church. I still have a passion to help those who hurt as I know the depth of despair I felt. I pray God gives you strength and peace. If you ever feel the need, check out griefshare.org, as it is located around the country. We give hope when things seem so hopeless. Pat was too young and as I remember her, deeply loved. My heart goes out to you all. With my sympathies, Lories Nye-Slockbower

Hello Richard. Karen and myself were so sad to here of patty's passing. We know you both fought a long hard battle. Patty wouldn't have had it any other way, she was so driven and that was one of the things i liked so much of her. It was just the other day , i was telling about the time at Stony when you Jersey friends came up, you know the Jack Nickelson gang. Man that was a fun time. Although Patty has left this earth, she has left a spot in our harts that we will never forget. Richard i hope you are well and fell free to give a call or drop an email when the time is right. Our love is with you both! Be well Andre, Karen, & Oscar

Dearest Rich, We are so saddened to hear about Patty. Indeed, she has suffered greatly. But we have to focus on all the many wonderful times of her life. She was a beautiful, charming and intelligent woman. Her captivating smile won the hearts of many. For me, she was a role model of someone who enjoyed all the many aspects of her life. I have shared stories about Patty to my children, students and friends. They have also loved all the pictures of her dogs, who meant so much to her. She was a gem of a friend and our thoughts and prayers are with both of you.
