Obituary of Clarence Hardt
HARDT, Clarence E., "Bud" age 95, died peacefully on Monday, August 1, 2011.
Born in Newark, Bud was a resident of Ridgewood for the past 64 years.
Bud was an auto body man all of his career and had retired in 1986 from United Auto Body, Fair Lawn. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific. He was a member of American Legion Post 170, Rochelle Park. Bud was a parishioner of Church of the Nativity, Midland Park. Bud's love was his wife and family and cars, in that order.
Bud is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Ellen, his son Bill and wife Mary Lu of West Milford, and his son Jim and wife Cindy of Midland Park, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, and his son-in-law John Lillis of Toms River. Bud was predeceased by his dear daughter Suellen in 2006.
Friends may visit the family on Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. Funeral Prayers, Friday, 9:00 AM at the funeral home followed by the Funeral Mass, 10:00 AM at Church of the Nativity, 315 Prospect St., Midland Park. Private cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Research, 1111 Stewart Avenue, Bethpage, NY 11714-3533, would be appreciated.
