Obituary of Ninette Mercier Antman

ANTMAN Ninette, age 94, died peacefully at home on Sunday, July 24, 2011. She was born in Wood-Ridge, NJ on September 14, 1916 and has lived in Wyckoff since 1966. As a young woman, Ninette worked for Continental Can Company, New York. Following marriage she raised her three daughters and provided a loving home for her family. Later, she had the opportunity to work at the United Nations as a typist for Eleanor Roosevelt. Ninette's loves included traveling, especially in the western United States, rock and fossil collecting, gardening, and writing feature articles for the Wood-Ridge Independent and poetry for her personal enjoyment. She also was a self-taught accomplished pianist. Ninette was predeceased by her beloved husband Frank J. in 2006. Surviving are her three daughters, Ninette Grannis of Montvale, Linda Leuthold of Kinnelon and Lori Antman of Galveston, TX; her five grandchildren, Richard and Robert Grannis, Eric Leuthold, Kristen Luttenberger, and Ariel Antman-Kennedy, and her six great grandchildren. Visiting, Sunday, July 31, 2-4 and 7-9 PM with a funeral service at 8 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. Entombment will be private for the family at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Tiki Island Chapel Tree Planting Fund in Memory of Ninette Antman, 835 Tiki Drive, Galveston, TX 77554, would be appreciated.
