Obituary of Robert Selbach
Selbach, Robert M., age 90, died Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at his residence. He was born in North Bergen and had been a resident of Oradell before moving to Wyckoff in 1983. Robert was owner and president of Selbach- Meyer Steel Corp. in West New York, NJ. He was a WW II Army veteran. He was a life member of the VFW Post #7086, Midland Park, the American Legion, and a member of the Masonic Lodge #194, Ridgefield Park. Robert had served on the Palisade Savings Bank Board of Directors for 29 years and was a former member of the North Hudson Kiwanis Club, having served as President in 1956. Robert is survived by his daughter, Jane, of River Vale and his sister, Gloria Deutsch of Cliffside Park. Also surviving is a grandson, Eric Selbach, his wife, Leslie, and three great grandchildren, Benjamin, William and Emelia all of Villanova, PA. Robert was predeceased by his loving wife of 68 years, Natalie (nee Kessler) on June 21, 2011, his son, Roger Selbach in 1996 and his brother, Frank in 2003. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to Serafina Brown. Funeral Service, Friday 10:30 am at the funeral home, with the interment following in Hackensack Cemetery, Hackensack. In lieu of flowers donations to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516 would be appreciated.
