Obituary of Michael Guerrasio

Guerrasio, Michael E., age 64 of Franklin Lakes, died Saturday, July 23, 2011 at the Valley Hospital, Ridgewood. He was born in Port Jefferson, NY and had resided in Carlstadt, NJ before moving to Franklin Lakes 30 years ago. Michael graduated from Pace University in 1969 with his Bachelor's Degree and his Master's Degree in 1975. He was honorably discharged from the Army National Guard. He was a parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament RC Church, Franklin Lakes. Michael was a CPA with the accounting firm KPMG in Manhattan for over 40 years and retired as a Partner in 2009. Also, Michael was a long time member of Hackensack Golf Club, Oradell and Indian Trail Club, Franklin Lakes. Prior to his marriage, Michael was a volunteer fireman in Medford, NY. He is survived by his loving wife Doris (nee Nicholson); his daughters, Sally Tryon of Oakland and Edna Sanfilippo of Hoboken, 1 granddaughter, Johanna Tryon, his stepmother, Ruth Guerrasio of Brightwaters, NY and four brothers, James and Andrew both of Medford, NY, Philip of Port Jefferson, NY and Warren of Mastic, NY. Also surviving are 13 nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Michael and Irene (nee Zarembo) Guerrasio. Visiting hours will be held Monday 7 - 9 PM and Tuesday 2 - 4, 7 - 9 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ 07481. Prayers will begin at 9:00 AM at the funeral home on Wednesday followed by a Funeral Mass, 10:00 AM at Most Blessed Sacrament RC Church, 787 Franklin Lakes Rd., Franklin Lakes, NJ. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Lyndhurst.
