Obituary of Harold Van Der Wall

VAN DER WALL Harold, Sr., 100, absent from the body, present with his Lord on Wednesday, July 11, 2007. A Ramsey resident for 44 years, formerly of Glen Rock. He was born to Dutch immigrants in Paterson, NJ on August 30, 1906. He established the Van Der Wall Heating business in Glen Rock during World War II until health problems forced his retirement in 1968. Predeceased by his wife, Gertrude after 54 years of marriage, and his daughters, Rena Van Der Wall and Marie Pankow. He is survived by his son, Harold, Jr. and his wife, Barbara and daughters Evelyn Amarante and her husband Robert and Trudy Van Der Wall, 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and a sister, Jeanette Beard. He was a member of the Berean Bible Church in Midland Park. Until recently he led an active life tending his vegetable garden, flowers and yard. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 9:30 am at Vander Plaat's Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Interment at Fairlawn Memorial Cemetery. Please omit flowers.
