Obituary of Richard Valentine

Richard Kraft Valentine, age 86, died on Monday, July 9, 2007. Born in Middletown, OH, he lived in Upper Montclair before moving to Manchester, NJ 22 years ago.Richard earned a B.S. degree in engineering from Ohio State University. During the span of his career he worked for McKinsey & Co., ITT and Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. He finished his career as an executive vice president with F.R. Schwab and Associates, a management consulting firm focusing on the natural resource and mining industries. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary Elizabeth (nee Curren) to whom he was married for 58 wonderful years, his loving sons Richard of North Brunswick, Peter and his wife Nancy of Midland Park and his dear daughter-in-law Karen Valentine of San Diego, CA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Christina, Abigail, Elizabeth, Charles, Patrick and Emily, and his great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Nate and Olivia. He was predeceased by his son Charles of San Diego, CA. The family will have a gathering of friends on Thursday, from 7-9 PM at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff. A service of remembrance will follow on Friday, 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Private Cremation was held. In lieu of flowers donations to Myelodysplastic Syndromes Foundation (MDS) P.O.
