Obituary of Floro Burgos MD

Burgos, Floro S., MD, age 76, of Wyckoff, died Saturday, July 9, 2011 at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport, CT. He was born in Oas, Albay, Philippines and had resided in Nutley and Margate, NJ before moving to Wyckoff 37 years ago. Floro was a 1961 graduate of the University Of Santo Tomas Medical School in the Philippines and had served his residency at Newark Beth Isreal Medical Center, St. Peter's Medical Center and the Veteran Affairs Medical Center. He was an Internist, along with his wife, with a private practice in Paterson, NJ. Dr. Burgos also served on the medical staff of St. Joseph Medical Center, Paterson and was a member of the NJ Medical Association. He was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament RC Church, Franklin Lakes. Floro is survived by his loving wife, Lourdes (nee Alojipan), MD, his three daughters, Jennifer Chang of Annandale, VA, Gail Schairer of Allentown, PA and Lorraine Elmo of Trumbull, CT, his three brothers and one sister, Jason Burgos, MD and Don Burgos, MD both of Mt. Dora, FL and Jose Burgos and Violeta Aguila both of the Philippines. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Jason, Jessica and J.J. Chang, Grace, Margaret, Harry and Rachael Schairer, Brian Jr., and Caitlyn Elmo. Visiting hours are Friday 6-9 PM and Saturday 9 - 10 AM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. Funeral Mass Saturday 11:00 AM at Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, 787 Franklin Lakes Rd., Franklin Lakes, NJ. Interment will follow in Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes, NJ.
