Obituary of Arthur Kruithof

KRUITHOF Arthur H "Bud", age 91, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, May 21, 2011. Born in Midland Park, Mr. Kruithof lived there most of his life. Bud was an owner operator and independent trucker until retiring in 1981. Earlier in his life, he worked as a dairy farmer. A former member of Irving Park Christian Reformed Church Bud was currently a member of Faith Reformed Church, Midland Park where he participated in the Senior Crusaders. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater, and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He also served as a troop leader in the Boy Scouts of America. Bud is survived by his beloved wife Eleanor to whom he was married for 64 years, his daughter Elaine Braunius and husband Roy of Midland Park, his son Arthur and wife Sue of Charlottesville, VA, his son Kenneth and wife Caroline of Greenville, SC, and his daughter Donna Hagedorn and son-in-law Jim of Charlottesville, VA. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Bud was predeceased by his infant daughter Shirley Ann. Friends may visit on Tuesday, 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. Funeral Service, Wednesday, 10:00 AM at the funeral home followed by interment at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Faith Reformed Church, 95 Prospect Street, Midland Park, NJ 07432, or the Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834, would be appreciated.
