Obituary of Frederick Leentjes

LEENTJES, Frederick age 73, died peacefully surrounded by his family late in the evening of May 24, 2007 at his home in Midland Park. Fred was born in Paterson on December 5, 1933. He was a resident of Midland Park for 50 years. He was a self-employed Mason Contractor in the Midland Park area for many years. Fred's love for his work reflected in his design and the finished product. Fred served his country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Navy, and was a long time member of the Irving Park Christian Reformed Church in Midland Park. Surviving is his beloved wife of 53 years, Anna (nee Vriesema), his devoted children, Paul and his wife Tina of East Springfield, NY, Brian and his wife Alison of Chester, NY, Brenda Leentjes of Midland Park, and Bob and his wife Danyelle of Pagosa Springs, CO. Fred also leaves his adoring grandchildren, Zach, Eli, Aaron, Nathaniel, and Shane, and his sisters, Pauline Engels, and Johanna Gould. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 10:00 am at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. Interment will follow at the Redeemer Cemetery in Mahwah. Visiting is Tuesday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
