I learned this morning, March 7, of the passing of Arthur Statuto. I have only the fondest of memories from many years ago of a man with a powerful presence and a truly gentle demeanor. A kind and passionate man of great faith and strong family values. His passing is truly a sad occasion and my sympathies and condolences to the Statuto family. Thank you for allowing me to be a very small part of Arthur's life.

I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to your family. I had the pleasure of meeting your dad out at Notre Dame one year when my husband, Jim, and I went out to a football game with his parents/my in-laws (Jim and Frankie McGurk) and also at my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary. There was a group of them (Marty Wendal is the only other one I recall at the moment) that would go out every year for a game and my father-in-law would tell all kinds of stories of the fun they had. May your dad rest in peace. Kate McGurk

We have missed Art since he moved out of Allendale - he was a funny, gentle, wonderful man. He went to Notre Dame with my Dad, and, as I was a graduate of ND as well, we shared many good stories. My kids pointed to a picture of Art on the football team at ND when we went out to a game, and we brought a picture back to Art, which he enjoyed. We send our most heartfelt sympathy to Art's family. God comfort you in your grief.
