Obituary of Salvatore LoVerde

Salvatore Anthony LoVerde, age 89, formerly of Emerson, died on Saturday, February 26, 2011. Born in Brooklyn, Sal lived in Brooklyn for 40 years before moving to Emerson in 1961. Sal was a 1st Lieutenant in the US Army during World War II and then he worked as an Electrical Supervisor for the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Margaret, his son Richard LoVerde and his wife Mary Ellen of Waldwick, his son Dr. James LoVerde, and his daughter Donna Reiffen and her husband Mitchell of Westlake Village, CA. Sal is also survived by 6 grandchildren; Jeremy and his wife Kari, Jennifer, Robert, Adam, Melissa and Shannon, and 1 great granddaughter Madison. He was predeceased by his son Michael LoVerde in 2006. Visiting is Sunday 6 - 9 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. Funeral mass will be held Monday 10:00 AM at St. Luke's RC Church, 340 Franklin Tpk, Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ 07423. Interment will follow in the St. Luke's Church Cemetery.
