Obituary of Raymond Ward

WARD, Raymond C., age 83, died Tuesday, September 11, 2007. Born in Wyckoff, he was a life-long resident until recently moving to Mahwah. Raymond was a self-employed builder and carpenter for 36 years before retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Midland Park United Methodist Church where he served as a Lay Leader and also on the Board of Trustees. He served in the Army during World War II as a member of a special task forced involved in the repatriotization of the German and Russian prisoners. He is survived by his loving wife Beatrice (nee Rose) Ward, his daughters, Bonnie and her husband Gary Muller of Pelham, NH and Sharon and her husband David Coppola of Pompton Lakes. Beloved grandfather of Jason, Ryan, Kristen, Liam, and Allyson. Also surviving is his brother William and his wife Audrey of West Milford and his niece Geraldine Rutz of Wyckoff. Visiting hours Friday 2 �" 4 and 7 �" 8:30 p.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 8:30 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481. The family and friends will assemble at the Funeral Home on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and then proceed to George Washington Memorial Park for the burial.
