Obituary of Michael R. Loreti

Loreti, Dr. Michael R. age 80, of Wyckoff, formerly of Rutherford, departed this earth on July 1, 2012. Born and raised in Raritan, Dr. Loreti specialized in the practice of ophthalmology in Passaic for 30 years. He also served on the surgical staffs of Passaic General Hospital and Saint Mary's Hospital, and was a member of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Loreti received his Bachelor's Degree from The University of Pennsylvania, and his medical degree from the University of Rome, Italy. Over the years, Dr. Loreti cultivated many loyal and caring relationships with his patients, many of whom remained his close friends after his retirement. In addition to many close and loving friends, Dr. Loreti leaves behind his spouse and high school sweetheart, Barbara (nee Fleming), his son Michael, E. Loreti, M.D., of Mahwah, his son Brian D. Loreti and his wife, Randi, also of Mahwah, his son, Craig R. Loreti, and his wife, Deborah, of Manchester, and grandchildren, Michael, Steven, Matthew, Joseph, and Nicholas. He is also survived by his sister, Carmel Massari, of Raritan, and his brother, Daniel Loreti and his wife, Kaye, of Branchburg, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to having a successful medical/surgical practice, Dr. Loreti was a trained and talented musician, having studied and played the piano, accordion, and vibraphone. He was a passionate jazz enthusiast and split his time playing with numerous jazz ensembles, as well as The Wayne Mandolin Orchestra and The Mummers. Dr. Loreti was also an avid professional and college football fan, and enjoyed watching The New York Giants every Sunday with his sons and grandsons. Prayers Friday 9:15 am from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 am at St. Elizabeth's R. C. Church, 700 Wyckoff Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ. Entombment Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah. In lieu of flowers donations to the Wyckoff Lions Club, P.O. Box 33, Wyckoff, NJ 07481 would be appreciated.
