Obituary of Walter Baumann

BAUMANN, Walter, age 77, died on Friday May 11, 2007. Born in Passaic, NJ, he was raised in Elmwood Park and moved to Midland Park 40 years ago. Walter was an Army veteran during the Korean Conflict where he served in Germany. He worked 38 years as a Cable Splicer for PSE&G and continued to work part-time throughout his retirement. Walter was a lifetime sports enthusiast enjoying football and baseball as a youth, then coaching little league with his sons. In his later years he became an avid golfer and bowler. Walter passionately followed the Yankees throughout his life. Walter is survived by his daughter Susan of Midland Park, his son Edward of Midland Park, his son David and wife Anita of Ossining, NY, and his daughter Marianne Rutkowski and husband Lee of Sparta, NJ. He is predeceased by his wife Mary, his sister Hedy Tenner, and his parents Walter and Julia Baumann. Visitation will be Monday, May 14, 2007, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Olthuis Funeral Home, 159 Godwin Ave., Midland Park, NJ 07432.
