I had the great pleasure of having Mr.Gardner as my 6th grade teacher in Honiss School way back in the day. How I loved being in his class! He was a fountain of wisdom and an inspiration to us all. His genuine care and concern for his students was very evident, even when he was teasing us and telling us to "sit in the corner with the dunce cap on". I will cherish my memories of Mr. Gardner always.

Please accept my sympathies on losing such a wonderful person. "Mr. Gardner" was my elementary school principal so many years ago and now, as an adult in the field of education myself, so many of the kind and wonderful things he did have stayed with me and influence my own style of relating to my students. I especially remember going to his office on my birthday every year and receiving my birthday pennies. What a thrill to be sent to the principal's office for such a special recognition. Mr. Gartner legacy will surely be carried into the future for many, many generations to come.

Please accept my condolences on the passing of Mr. Gardner. He was principal of Grant School when I attended and I was there the year he retired. Although I was very young I still vividly remember his warm smile. I also remember singing the Marines Hymn in his honor at the annual Memorial Day observances. I was truly saddened to learn he had died.
