Obituary of Gilbert Hepp

HEPP, Gilbert J. age 94, died peacefully on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at the Oakland Care Center. Gil was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 11, 1912. He was head of the maintenance department at the Pascack Valley Regional High School in Hillsdale for many years before his retirement in 1982. Gil served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II in the European Theater where he was detained as a prisoner of war for more than 14 months. Surviving are his devoted daughters Shirley and her husband Paul Felice of Midland Park, and Janice and her husband Ronald Streelman of Durham, NH. Gil also leaves his adoring grandchildren, Steven, Thomas, Casey, and Samantha. He was pre-deceased by his beloved wife of 49 years Margaret (nee Sokoly) in 1997. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 10:30 am from the Vander Plaat Funeral Home 257 Godwin Avenue Wyckoff. Interment will follow in the Wyckoff Reformed Church Cemetery. Visiting is Tuesday 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
