Our deepest sympathies and condolences to Shane's family and friends. While we only knew him a short time, he was always a bright light in the room and his presence in our company and family will be sorely missed. Shane was a warm friendly and caring person, always quick with a joke or a word of encouragement and the world was a better place for having him in it.

Dear Jane, William, Kevin and Kelly, I only knew Shane a short while, but in that time I knew him to be honest, outgoing, respectful, kind, and positive. I had the pleasure of getting to know Shane when he first came on to Redken and when he moved to Chicago, and every time he was around, I always enjoyed his company. I cannot imagine the hurt you are feeling, but I hope it is some comfort to know your son positively affected the lives of all that knew him. I am deeply sorry for your loss. We will miss him immensely

Shane is an amazing person. He has always had the right words to say at the right time for everyone. His smile warmed any room he entered. Not only was he a co-worker but he became a friend that I always looked forward to seeing. He will be missed. A stranger told me just the other day to think of all the good things about Shane and that will help us get through. Those thoughts are plenty. God bless you and your family Shane.

“A Beautiful Life Cut Short” How can I begin, to tell this sad tale Of a life cut so short, before it even set sail For this is a story, of a man young and smart Who would brighten any room, showing a wonderful heart Because he would make you feel special, he was respectful and kind You could see from the start, he had a beautiful mind And yet he was quite the competitor, striving for always the best He would always give it his all, standing above all the rest For a leader he was, on the teams that he played A true winner and captain, with the skills he displayed Yet he had that young baby face, with a wonderful smile to all You knew he would always be there, to answer the call And this is what’s so tragic, that has brought tears to our eyes That has all of us so empty, not being able to say our goodbyes For this was a man, who seemed to have life on a string Who was ready for all the successes, and the joys life would bring And he worked very hard, to be accepted and respected He wanted to always deliver, more than ever was expected And the people he worked with, and the pride he would feel He was part of something special, so wonderful and real And they were honored to have him, on this truly great team To let each show their great qualities, that was their theme And Shane did just that, both at his job and at play He seemed to cherish and cheer, each wonderful day And that’s how he was raised, by his Mom and his Dad The pride that he would bring them, made them so joyous and glad And along with the rest of their children, they knew they raised a great son Every time they would look upon him, they just knew they had won And the many friends that he had, showed what a great life he led Just look at the lives he affected, no more words need be said For it’s now time to grieve, and mourn this wonderful soul And fight back the sadness, that has left this big gaping hole We need to all band together, and be there for one another And celebrate Shane’s life, with good wishes for each other For Shane’s body is no longer among us, his spirit has soared He is up there in heaven, at peace with our Lord And he is looking upon us, wishing us all his very best He wants us all now to know, he is finally at rest By Buddy Feldshon “In Loving Memory of Shane Donlan

Its been said that when someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. Shane is no exception to this rule. I couldn't believe what I had heard and to this day, and forever, he'll be in my heart. This is dedicated to you, Mr. Donlan:
He will live in our hearts, and will never die
Every time i see him, I'll see the smile,
That lit up a room, that fueled the soul
The memories we have, will never grow old.
He was taken so young, and I'm jealous to say
That others are happy to meet him today
Embrace the love, the thoughts the feel
Let them sift through this tragic, unexpected ordeal.
Think of him with a stick, a beer, with cheer
Hold these thoughts tight, so close, so dear
Send a prayer to his family and friends alike
Say a prayer for Shane P. Donlan tonight.
I have a special place in my heart for you man. You always showed me love, hospitality, and genuine sincerity. You will be missed but not forgotten. I know you'll look down and guide us through life.
Until we meet again,
Jax

Dear Donlan family - Shane is one of the nicest, wholesome and genuine individual I have ever met. He showed a lot of promise and thirst to achieve and accomplish like no other. His loss is premature and and a tragedy to those who had the opportunity to know him and a greater misfortune for those who have not had a pleasure to meet him or be in the presence of his warm smile. I am truly sorry for your loss. Rey de los Reyes

Dear Jane, Bill, Kelly and Kevin, As moms, especially as we get older, we have a plethora of memories to draw upon, enriched via our kids. One that is poignant to me is Shane's and Kenneth's first play date. I pulled up into your driveway and there was Shane, standing there with a bunny in his arms, waiting for Kenneth. To me, it was a captivating moment. I immediately thought that Shane was not only a beautiful child, but an endearing one as well. Shane's presence graced all of those who were fortunate to be with him. He was and always will be special. If I had a magic wand that would erase all of your pain, I would use it right now. Magic however, is not my forte. What I can offer are warm thoughts, prayers and the everlasting good memories that we moms share. God bless you and your family. Sincerely, Marcella Dow
