Obituary of Stanley Biernacki

BIERNACKI, Stanley E. age 77, died peacefully on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. Stan was born in New Haven, CT, and lived in Waldwick for the past 45 years. Mr. Biernacki was employed as a Telephone Repairman for N.Y.Bell Telephone Company for more than 33 years before his retirement in 1998. Stan was a parishioner of St. Luke's R.C.Church in HoHoKus where he was an Usher, and was Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 5257. He served the Borough of Waldwick as a Crossing Guard at the Middle and High School location on Wyckoff Avenue for several years. You would often see him at the local football, basketball and baseball games cheering for the kids. Stan was named the hometown hero by the middle school sixth grade. Surviving is his loving wife of 49 years, Stella (nee Sondej), his devoted daughters, Susan and her husband Daniel Hennessy of Greensburg, PA, and Marianne and her husband Joseph Agner of Hawthorne. He also leaves his six adoring grandchildren, Katie, Sean, Alyssa, Steven, Anthony, and Sarah, and ten nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 9:45 am from the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. Funeral mass will follow 10:30 am at St. Luke's R.C.Church, 340 Franklin Tpk. HoHoKus. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visiting is Tuesday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
