Obituary of Gunther Weierstall

Gunther J. Weierstall, age 81 of Oradell, died Wednesday, January 31, 2007. Born in Elberfeld, Germany he lived in Paramus and Midland Park before moving to Oradell. Gunther was the Corporate Director of Purchasing for GAF Corporation, Wayne for 30 years before his retirement. He was a decorated WW II veteran who served in the 100th Infantry Division of the US Army. He was a former member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Paramus where he served as a member of the council and a church usher. Beloved husband of Lillian (nee Weixler) Weierstall of Oradell, Devoted father of John G. and his wife Linda Weierstall of Montvale, and Carol J. and her husband Dan Weaver of Midland Park. Proud grandfather of Gretchen Ritacco, Heidi Weierstall Huber, Andrew, Kevin and Patrick Weaver and great grandfather of Cecilia and Matthew Ritacco and Tristan Huber. Also surviving is his brother, Willi Weierstall of River Edge, his sister-in-law, Jean Black of Harwich, MA and his cousin, Inge O'Donnell of Richfield. Visiting Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ followed by a Funeral Service, Saturday at 9:30 AM.Private Cremation will follow.
