Obituary of William Geyh
GEYH, William J. age 88 of Wyckoff, died peacefully at home on Monday, November 22, 2010. Bill was born in New Britain, CT on June 15, 1922. He was a resident of Wyckoff since 1952. Bill was employed as a school teacher for the Westwood Board of Education for 20 years before his retirement in 1988. He served his country during World War II in the United States Navy and was a member of the Faith Community Christian Reformed Church in Wyckoff. Bill also served his community as a member of the Wyckoff Fire Dept., Sicomac Engine Company #3. He was a member of the Wyckoff Fire Dept. Relief Association where he served as secretary for 23 years and was very sincere in his position as Fire Dept. Chaplain for more than 30 years. Bill is survived by his devoted daughters, Mary Ellyn Hunter of Mahwah and Joanne Geyh of Wyckoff. He also leaves his adoring granddaughters Marcy and Brittney Hunter, his brother Rev. Arthur Geyh and his sisters Marion Leonardo and Peg Caddick. Funeral services will be held Saturday 10:30 AM at the Faith Community Christian Reformed Church, 530 Sicomac Avenue, Wyckoff. Interment will follow in the Wyckoff Reformed Church Cemetery. Visiting is Friday 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the New Jersey State Fireman's Home, 565 Lathrop Avenue, Boonton, NJ 07005.
