NYDAM, Ryan, age 71, of Otego, NY, formally of Wyckoff, NJ, died Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Otsego Manor, Cooperstown, NY. Born in Hawthorne, NJ, he resided in Wyckoff, NJ before moving to Otego, NY in 2004. Ryan was a self employed landscape contractor and owner/operator of Lawn Maintenance Service for over 30 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of Hawthorne Gospel Church, Hawthorne, NJ, Wyckoff Fire Department Company #2, the Wyckoff Fire Police, where he had served as Chief for 18 years, the Wyckoff Fireman's Relief Association, NJ State Exempt Fireman's Association and had served as a Municipal Court Officer for the Township of Wyckoff, NJ. Ryan is survived by his wife, Joan (nee Warnet) of Otego, NY, 2 daughters; Lisa Ann Weite and her husband, Daniel of Oneonta, NY and Lori Ann Vanderaa and her husband, Kevin of Airmont, NY and 2 granddaughters; Emily and Julie Weite of Oneonta, NY. Also surviving are 2 brothers; Jack Nydam of Palm Coast, FL and Donald Nydam of Kunkletown, PA. Ryan was predeceased by his brother, Robert Nydam in 2002. Visiting, Wednesday 2 - 4, 7 - 9 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. www.vpfh.com. Funeral Thursday, 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, Paramus, NJ.
