Obituary of Chuck Harris

HARRIS, Chuck age 62 of Wyckoff, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, October 2, 2010. Born in Paterson, Chuck lived in Franklin Lakes before moving to Wyckoff 33 years ago. He spent his career with Ridgewood Water retiring as Supervisor in February 2009 after 28 years of service. In his early career he owned Chuck Harris Landscape. Chuck is a former member of the Protection Fire Company #1 in Wyckoff and a member of the North Jersey Water Conference. Surviving is his loving wife of 37 years, Denise "Dee" (nee Spohn), his daughters, Karen and her husband Bob Fylstra of Midland Park and Megan and her husband Jack Manookian of Ridgefield Park. Chuck also leaves his adoring grandchildren Krystal, Brian, Rachael, Cheyanne, Shelby and Caleb, his mother and father-in-law, Lois and Ferd Spohn formerly of Wyckoff, his brother-in-law Greg, his sisters Maryanne, Jane, Tina and Holly and many nieces and nephews. The Harris family will receive friends and family at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Cremation will be private.
