BLAUVELT, Frank H. age 87, died peacefully on Thursday, December 28, 2006 at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. Frank was born on September 16, 1919 in Paterson. He and his wife Marion resided in Hackensack and Glen Rock before moving to Wyckoff 53 years ago. He was the owner and president of the Blauvelt Bros. He was a member of the Wyckoff Reformed Church, and the YMCA Club in Paterson. Frank was also a long time member of the Association of Blauvelt Descendants. A lover of sports, Frank kept very close watch on his favorite teams, the New York Rangers and Mets; he also was a passionate golfer and enjoyed sharing his talent and skills with his grandson Bobby. He enjoyed his private time where he escaped to Cape Cod, or curled up with a good mystery or World War I or II history book. Frank had a gadget for everything and was even becoming quite good on his computer, and he loved e-mail. Even though he loved sports and reading his passion was volunteering. Frank was very active, even recently as a volunteer with the Valley Hospital Renal Center where he spent a great deal of time. There he was known for his smile and his nickname the "Candyman". Surviving is his devoted daughter Susan and her husband Jim Heilmann of Wyckoff, and his adoring grandchildren Leigh and Bobby. He also leaves his niece, Virginia Thompson of Poughkeepsie, NY. Frank was pre-deceased by his loving wife of 56 years Marion (nee Kievit) in 1999. Funeral services will be held Saturday 9:30 am from the Olthuis Funeral Home, 159 Godwin Avenue, Midland Park, NJ.
