Obituary of Nicholas Peckio

PECKIO, Jr. Nicholas J. "Buster" age 79, was born in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn, New York in 1927, Mr. Peckio was a Navy Veteran of WWII. He moved his family and business to New Jersey in 1954. He retired from the family owned trucking business in 1985. An avid tennis player and talented woodworker, Mr. Peckio loved making furniture, grandfather clocks, cabinetry, bookcases, birdhouses and craft items. He spent several years restoring historic homes to their original grandeur and renovated all of his five children's homes. Mr. Peckio will be remembered for his love of family, generous, fun loving personality and his sense of humor. He is survived by his beloved children; Ellen Peckio of Midland Park, Joan Pecchio and her husband Joseph Carini, Kathleen Peckio of Toms River, Nicholas III and his wife Cleo of Hawthorne and James and his wife Melissa of Midland Park. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Kelly Ann, James, Eric, Tyler and Casey. Mr. Peckio also leaves behind his loving partner of 23 years, Joan Lake Hacker of Wyckoff.
