Obituary of Walter Murphy

Murphy, Walter J. age 78 of Waldwick died Tuesday, December 19, 2006. Born in New York City he lived in Waldwick for 44 years. Walter was a Korean Conflict veteran who served on the USS Coral Sea. He was a member of the Association of the USS Coral Sea, Knights of Columbus, Council # 5257, Waldwick. He was a parishioner of St. Luke's R. C. Church, Ho Ho Kus were he served as a Greeter and was a former vice president of the Parents Association of St. Luke's School. Walter was in Sales for Brooks Brothers, New York City before his retirement in 1992. Surviving is his wife, Mary T. (nee Cosgrave) Murphy, four daughters, Kathleen and her husband Scot Barthold of Waldwick, Jeanne and her husband Brian Shaw of Waldwick, Tara and her husband John Fallotico of Wyckoff and Patricia and her husband Andrew Cinque of Hazlet, NJ. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Eileen, Scot, Meghan, MaryKate, Caitlyn, Bridget and Ryan. Visiting Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the VanderPlaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. Prayers Friday 9:15 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM at St. Luke's R.C. Church, 340 Franklin Tpk. Ho Ho Kus, NJ. Interment Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah.
