I worked for Warren Schaub as his secretary (and also for the 8 men in his department) at AT&T, 195 Broadway, NY, from February 1972 until mid 1973 when he was transferred back to New Jersey Bell.
I was 18 years old, he was my first boss after being promoted from the Steno Pool, and I truly enjoyed working for him. He had a great personality, was easy to get along with and was a good boss.
Everyone liked him, and he was usually in a good mood, making our office a nice place to be. I "reconnected" with him in Sept. 2007 when I saw his wife's obituary in the Record and realized she was Mr. Schaub's (that's how I knew him!) wife.
I sent a letter and explained who I was, and gave him my telephone number. I was happy to receive a phone call from him a few days later. He and I talked about our days working together and our co-workers, as well as about his family and mine, for about an hour. It was great to do so, and he sent me photographs of he and his beloved family a couple of weeks later. I spoke to him once after that, and unfortunately did not get a chance to call him again.
I am sorry of his passing.......it is great that he and his wife had such a long, happy marriage. He talked to me about how much he missed her. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the viewing and am finally getting around to leaving a memorial.

I could never imagine Warren without Jean or Jean without Warren. Now it is as it should be again. It was a privilege spending time with them and watching how they interacted. I loved how he called her baby right up to the end. What wonderful people they both were. Sadly, we won't be able to attend the service for Warren. Know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. Love Marsha and Jack

I am so sorry to learn of Mr. Schaub's passing. Your father was a wonderful man, so full of life and laughter. When I think of the Schaub family, it brings back such fond childhood memories of Brookside, Fourth of July barbecues, and your Mom and Dad playing cards at my parents' house. Your Dad was always the life of the party...what a great sense of humor! He will be missed by many. My sincere condolences.
