I can't believe that you are gone. It is such a deep sadness and emptiness that can never be filled. You gave us so many wonderful, joyous memories that I am thankful. I only wish my own son could have met you and felt your unconditional love. I will carry on your name with pride and will try to live my life with the same love, compassion and generosity that you showed our family. I love you so much Yiayia and will miss you dearly.
Your loving granddaughter,
Angela

Dear Helen, Sandra, Ed, Athena and John and families, Your mother and YiaYia always displayed such beauty, strength, grace and dignity. All whose life she touched will remember her with much fondness and love. Part of her will live on in each of you. We wish we could be there in person to show our love and support and tears, but you will all be in our hearts and prayers tomorrow. With much love and sympathy, Karen and Jack, Dan, Elaina and Arianne

You can shed tears that she is gone,
or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all she's left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see her,
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her only that she is gone,
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back.
Or you can do what she'd want:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
The memories are endless. The stories are personal. The love you have shared as a woman, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother lives within us all. Your body has passed but your spirit is eternal. As I begin my life as a wife and mother I feel grateful and blessed to have the loving foundations you have lead this family from. Life is not for the weary, but you've given us the tools we need to survive. So it's with grace, elegance, pride, and honor that I carry your legacy. And.... I will eternally feel compelled to pick up a piece of lint left on the floor in an otherwise emacculate room, because Yiayia wouldn't have stood for less!
