Obituary of Mary Nelke

Nelke, Mary (nee Pelikan) age 97 of Wyckoff, died Saturday, June 26, 2010. Born in Garfield, she lived in Lodi for 60 years, before moving to Knowlton Township and most recently to Wyckoff 3 years ago. Mary was a sewing machine operator for Barbara Ann Coats of Garfield for many years. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and a former parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Virgin Church, Garfield, NJ. Surviving are her children Otto and his wife Marion Nelke of Sunset Beach, NC, Richard and his wife Carol Nelke of Fair Lawn, NJ, Elizabeth and her husband Robert Mc Clain of Bridgeville, DE and Marilyn and her husband Rodney of Wyckoff, NJ. Also surviving are her 11 grandhildren, Deneen Belardino, Erik, Richard (Jeanette) and David (Laura) Nelke, Douglas (Kristina), Bradley and Kyle Mc Clain, Jessica, Elyse and Stephen Hara, Sharon (Steven) Dancer and 10 great grandchildren. Her 2 sisters, Josephine Harris of Pittsgrove, NJ, Wilma Thompson of Buena, NJ and her brother, Robert Pelikan of Franklinville, NJ. She was predeceased by her husband Otto Nelke in 1995. Visiting Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm and Saturday 9:30 -10:30 am at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. Funeral Mass Saturday 11 am at St. Elizabeth's R.C. Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. Private cremation will be held. In lieu of flowers donations to the Christian Health Care Center Foundation, 301 Sicomac Ave. Wyckoff, NJ 07481 would be appreciated.
