Obituary of Eleanor Coleman

Coleman, Eleanor D. (Sigmund), age 89, of Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ, died Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at her home. Born in Manhattan, she grew up in Teaneck before moving to Fair Lawn and has been a resident of Ho-Ho-Kus for 48 years. Eleanor was an active member of St. Bartholomew's Church, Ho- Ho-Kus where she served on the Altar Guild. She was also a member of St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church, Ridgewood, where she was a member of the Episcopal Church Women. She was a member of the Women's Club of Ho-Ho-Kus. She also was an active volunteer in many community organizations, including The Valley Hospital, Ridgewood. Surviving is her loving husband of 70 years, Jack Coleman. Her beloved daughters, Janice and her husband Robert Rudd of Rye, NY, Carol Coleman and her husband Chris Smith of Glen Rock and Diane Coleman and her husband David Verhoff of Ho-Ho-Kus. Also surviving are her cherished grandchildren, Casey and Jonathan Rudd, Megan Hoffman, Colin and Nora Verhoff. The family will receive friends on Sunday 2-5 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (www.vpfh.com) 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. Private burial will be held on Monday. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 11 am at the St. Bartholomew's Church, 70 Sheridan Ave. Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ.
