Obituary of Michael DeRaffele

Michael D. DeRaffele, age 74 of Berkeley Township, Holiday City South, died Friday, August 24, 2007 at The Valley Hospital, Ridgewood. Born in New Rochelle, NY he lived in Waldwick for 20 years before moving to Berkeley Township 3 years ago. He was an Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Michael was a Police Officer for the City of New Rochelle for 20 years before his retirement in 1977. After his retirement he worked for the Ridgewood Post Office for 15 years. Michael was a parishioner of St. Luke's R.C. Church, Ho Ho Kus, NJ. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 57, Waldwick and the Park Ridge Elks Club. He was involved in the Holiday City South Men's Club and the Golf Club. Surviving is his wife Patricia (nee Moore) DeRaffele of Berkeley Township, his sons, Robert DeRaffele of New Rochelle, NY and Robert Post of Upper Saddle River, NJ, his daughters, Jeanne Guida of New Rochelle, NY and Amy Post of Westwood, NJ and his brother, Frank DeRaffele of New Rochelle, NY. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Brendan Post in 2003 and a brother Enzo DeRaffele in 2006. Visiting Monday 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. Prayers Wednesday 9:15 a.m. at the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass, 10 a.m. at St. Luke's R.C. Church, 340 Franklin Tpk. Ho Ho Kus, NJ. Interment in the Church Cemetery.
