Obituary of Michael Galgano

GALGANO, Michael B., age 80, died peacefully on Sunday, February 14, 2010. Born in New York City, he lived in Paramus for the last 43 years. Michael was a construction manager, most recently with Bergen Community College in Paramus until his retirement. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Visitation R.C. Church of Paramus where he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Michael served his country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Army. Surviving is Michael's beloved wife of 48 years Olivia, his three dear sons, Robert and wife Carolyn of Sutton, MA, Paul and wife Courtney Lisecki of Ho Ho Kus, and Vincent and wife Tracey of Manalapan. He is also survived by his eight loving grandchildren, Carrie, Melissa, Anthony, Alexandra, Amanda, Christopher, Nicolas and Sophia, and also his sister Maria Figurski of San Francisco, CA. Michael was predeceased by his sister Eleanor Mayer. Friends may visit the family on Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. Funeral Service, Friday, 9:30 AM at the funeral home followed by the Funeral Mass, 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Visitation R.C. Church, 234 Farview Ave., Paramus. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
