Obituary of Thomas Noyes

NOYES, Thomas G., Jr., age 54, died suddenly on Thursday, February 11, 2010. Born in Orange, NJ, he grew up in Montclair and most recently lived in Midland Park. A graduate of Newark Academy and St. Lawrence University, he also completed extensive graduate work at NYU. After a career in business, he finally found his true calling as a teacher at Eastern Christian High School, North Haledon. He enjoyed a wonderful rapport with his students while bringing a distinctively creative approach to his classroom discussions. Tom is survived by Susan, his beloved wife of 29 years, his son Alexander and daughter Chelsea, his loving parents Marguerite Noyes and Thomas Noyes, Sr., his two sisters, Stacie Hixson and Mimi Noyes, and his brother, Edward Noyes. Friends may visit the family on Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. A funeral service, celebrating Tom's Christian faith and commitment, will take place on Monday, 10:00 AM at Bethany Church, 568 Wellington Drive, Wyckoff. Private burial will take place at Mount Repose Cemetery, Haverstraw, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Thomas G. Noyes, Jr., may be made to the Eastern Christian Scholarship Fund, 50 Oakwood Ave., North Haledon, NJ 07508. He was greatly loved by his family as well as his students, coworkers, church family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
