Obituary of Carrie Schaaf

SCHAAF, Carrie, age 95, of North Haledon, passed into eternal life on Sunday, January 17, 2010, following a brief illness. Born in Midland Park, she spent most of her adult life in Wyckoff, until moving to the Holland Christian Home 7 years ago. Carrie was a lifelong member of the Midland Park Christian Reformed Church. She was a long time quilter, a gardener, and an avid reader. She is survived by her son, Ken, and his wife, Carol, of Dunkirk, MD; her daughter, Karen, and her husband, Jeff Weaver, of Amarillo, TX; and her son, Wayne, and his wife, Lori, of Kentwood, MI, as well as 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She leaves a brother, Jack DeNooy and his wife, Wanda, of Denver, CO; a sister Marge DeNooy of North Haledon, NJ, and a sister, Kate, and her husband, Rev. Harry Arnold, of Kalamazoo, MI. Carrie was predeceased by her husband, Andrew (1984), her brother, Gary, and sisters, Rick Brandes and Jean Boonstra. Friends may meet with the family on Thursday morning at 9:30 am in the Chapel of the Holland Christian Home, 151 Graham Ave., North Haledon. A memorial service will follow at 10:30 am at the Chapel with burial at Valleau Cemetery in Ridgewood. Rev. Harry Arnold will officiate.
